my name is Branko Šabarić and I admit – I am an aviation addict. Although not my professional calling, aviation seems to always drawn huge interest to me. Since ever. Literally I can’t remember the time when this craze encompassed my soul. It was always there I guess. I grew up with a poster of a Mig-29 cockpit above my headboard and scale models of airplanes on my bookshelf. When my friends played video games I was using Flight Simulator (since FS4 kids!) which taught me a lot about flying theory. This childish interest increased and grew with years. My professional career interrupted my hobby and my family seemed too much important to use my time in the virtual world. But I spent many hours and I would like to save a part of those Flight Simulator memories. It is not updated any more unfortunately. The content is old so I do apologise for lo-res images and videos. Screens were much smaller and YouTube was to be those days. I will put more content in time but my last sim flight was somewhere in 2007.

But that didn’t mean that my craze for flying stopped. It grew even more actually! 🙂 Connected with various aviation communities (spotting and professional) I got immersed into our hobby fully. We as family travel a lot so I like to record all the details about my flights (of course). After many years I realised that I would like to store all that information somewhere and this is why I built Aviogeek.com. This is constantly updated with new adventures in the sky and airports around the world.

Born in Croatia I often visited its airports and took off from them, mostly from Zagreb Airport (ZAG). I live in Spain now and Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC) is my home base. So these airports are important to me and they will be frequently presented on this website. You will notice that Brussels Airport (BRU) and London-Heathrow (LHR) are often in the reports too, for sentimental reasons 🙂

The site also offers many news about airlines, airports and aviation in general and insightful articles about aviation industry and technology. I try not to publish anything that speculates but present rather informative articles. I like to record aviation history as it happens. This is just a little pet project and a playground for my hobby. But I don’t know where this adventure will take me. For now I just want to enjoy this playground fully and share my experience and love towards flying with you geeks!

If you would like to get in touch with me, please drop me a note. Thanks!

* Oh, that painting above is by my dad Zdravko. He always could see me as I am 🙂
