The first direct service in 28 years between the United States and Croatia started yesterday as the flight from Philadelphia landed in Dubrovnik.
American Airlines flight AA148 using Boeing 767-300ER airplane, registered N346AN, took off from Philadelphia at 18:30 local time, with 209 passengers on board, and after 8 hours landed at 8:45 local time. The seasonal flight will be in service until the end of September, operating thrice a week (and in September four times a week).
This is the first long-haul flight to Dubrovnik and the first one after many years connecting the United States and Croatia. As part of Yugoslavia, Dubrovnik was often served by YAT (Yugoslav Airlines) connecting the city with New York and Chicago, using DC-10.
